In 1958, 26-year-old preacher David Wilkerson read about a New York gang homicide trial in Life Magazine and felt obligated by faith to help. Over a year ago, I entered Great Lakes Women’s Rehab as a broken soul, feeling empty and facing prison time. Struggling with anxiety, depression, and reckless behavior, I attempted suicide multiple times. Finding Christ in rehab changed my life, filling me with hope and a light that can’t be extinguished. Now, I work as an intern in the intake department for Adult & Teen Challenge and stand on Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”.
