At 67 years old, I struggled with depression, anxiety, and addiction. I reached a point where I didn’t want to live any longer. But through this program, I found hope. I thank God, my friends, and my family for supporting me, and I am forever grateful for the transformation I experienced here.

A Faith-Based Rehab Legacy Transforming Lives

In 1958, 26-year-old minister David Wilkerson read about a New York gang homicide case in Life Magazine and felt driven by faith to assist. He journeyed to Manhattan to communicate the Gospel with the accused but was expelled from the court, earning headlines as the “Bible Preacher.” Seeing the destruction of drugs on teens, he created Teen Challenge in 1960 to reach gang members and substance abusers through God’s miraculous force. His 1962 book, The Cross and the Switchblade, has distributed over 16 million copies and was adapted into a 1972 movie. Teen Challenge has since evolved into a global Christian rehab network, including Great Lakes Adult & Teen Challenge, offering faith-based addiction recovery for men, women, and teens.

Natalie – A Young Life Transformed by Faith

“I am proud to say I have found God, and there is no going back for me.”.

Over a year ago, I entered Great Lakes Women’s Rehab as a broken soul, feeling empty and facing prison time. Struggling with anxiety, depression, and reckless behavior, I attempted suicide multiple times. Finding Christ in rehab changed my life, filling me with hope and a light that can’t be extinguished. Now, I work as an intern in the intake department for Adult & Teen Challenge and stand on Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”.
